Tara Church

I converted the colour shot to black and white and I prefer it in this format. Do you agree?
RobMemberLiving in County Meath myself, I’m a very frequent visitor to Tara (lovely peaceful place to ramble about) and I think you’ve captured the church quite well considering the number of obstacles (trees, graves, hillocks, overweight tourists, etc.) normally in the way of a clear shot. I definitely prefer the black and white version though you might consider upping the contrast just a fraction more (just my opinion). The sky is also a little washed out but could probably be improved with some tinkering in Photoshop (don’t ask me how, I’m only a novice). A very slight CCW rotation would also bring the church tower to vertical and parallel with the left border and would eliminate that distracting lean to the right. Hope you don’t mind my comments. Good sharp picture.
Rob.
joolsveerParticipantRobMemberMuch improved Dave, liking it a lot more. The increased contrast really helps to emphasize the lines of the building. I still find that slight lean in the tower a bit distracting though, but good work overall.
Rob.
joolsveerParticipantThanks for your comments. I have used different tower verticals in the two versions to align with the photo vertical. Photoshop gives me the result that the tower is not at an angle though.
RobertoMemberI like the tone of the churdh in original version. I would keep it and convert everything else around to b&w.

Try rotating counterclockwise 0.4 of one degree and you’ll see what I mean. It does actually make a difference.
