Two lovely shots Patricia :D The first one is really well framed..such an unusual setting for a cat.
We have a whole gang of cats as well and I’ve found that it is really difficult to get a decent shot of an all black cat…I don’t know what it is…maybe it’s the light..but it’s so hard to get any kind of contrast and stop him looking like a black blob
Our guy just looks to me like a miniature black panther..and that’s one animal I’d love to photograph.
Thanks Robbie!! I found that one in Sintra, a magical place for these kind of set. I had to bring up the light of the cat with levels and curves? I tend underexpose those subjects too? specially when the background has many highlights.
When you meter off a black cat or anything black. The camera wants to “bump up” the exposure to compensate and thus you will have blown out backgrounds.Use manual mode and see if that helps, meter off of something like the grass and set manual to that, then point at the cat and just shoot, the exposure meter will tell you its under exposed ,just ignore it and shoot away. Try it (Hope I explained it right)
You explained it perfectly ? normally I do the compensation..(0,3 or 0,7) its better to solve and under than a over exposure. In this case I used a 1600 iso, by mistake of course? I forgot to change the settings of the camera. We should think about those details of photometry that you?re talking about? I?m a little impulsive when I photograph? :D
