bigalguitarpickerParticipantThere’s big interest in “Bump Shots” though they don’t appeal to me at all. Having said that, I’ve seen some great ones! 50mm F1.8 can be useful lens here, allowing nice blurred backgrounds. I’ve seen some artistic use of veils worn as sarongs. I remember a photographer telling me a while back about an expectant mum being in tears because her bump was square and didn’t look good! Here’s a link might be of interest http://susancollinsphotography.com/2009/05/pregnancy-sneak-peek/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
Susan was a classmate a few years ago on HND Photography. She’s big into family photography. I don’t know if there are any more bump shots on her website, have a rummage about and see. The only other thing I can suggest is to google pregnancy shots for more advice.
Maybe you could try Back-lit soft focus type shots, using window light?

I tend to include exif data and some lighting info on all my flickr shots
MarkKeymasterBrian,
FYI, I removed your other posts and corrected your original. You were point to webpages which contained an image.

sirvadMemberpicturehouseMemberBaby bumps are good fun to do. there a lots of great ideas online for this. I’ve seen the bumps side on with siblings giving them hugs and some with the bump and the little new born baby shoes resting on top. Simple clothing is best and they look great in B&W. some bumps aren’t as pretty as others but you can work on different angles to get the best results. mum holding and looking down on her bump taken from a little height is a lovely one. A good resource I’ve found is groups on flickr totally dedicated to posing bump portraits.
Enjoy
:)
