Just decided to get up at 5:30am this morning… my favourite haunt was calling out to me…

Your early morning was rewarded. Another nice one John …. great colours. Compositionally it may be a bit ‘busy’ but it’s still a lovely shot. One suggestion…. If you can keep the highlight in check, it may be worth increasing wb to warm it up a bit. I find my 40d autowb’s on the cold side in similar scenarios.
I think at some point it may be worth organising a PI weekend down your way – perhaps towards the back end of the year so we don’t have to get up too early! …. I know theres enough rocks down there for all of us!

Yep… St. Helen’s Bay… I don’t mention the name in posts anymore because it’s been visited so many times and posted here. But to be honest, every time I go back it’s different.. the sky is different, the clouds are different, the sunrise is different, the morning colour is different. I never seem to have a repeat visit there.
Mr.H – A PI meet was suggested – I’m at loggerheads with this one – I’d love a meet but don’t want to be seen as the ‘owner’ or ‘face’ – Everyone might show on a weekend where it p*sses rain – I couldn’t live with that – Plus it’s a big county and I’m not sure what way people would want to spend an entire day. Too much organization. I’ll mull over it a little longer.

I think thats a risk we take anywhere we go, and is the reason the pub has such a high standing in Northern European culture. Alternatively it’s all round your new house for tea and bisuits :wink: … you’d better warn mrs nfl.

Well.. that’s assuming someone like ‘Spud’ doesn’t decide to come along. He’d probably want me to drive to Cork, wake him up, pack his bags, make his breakfast and then drive him to WX (Sorry Spud) :wink:
