The beauty is in the details

I enjoyed my first taste of shooting a wedding last weekend. I was assisting UseLiquid. It rained for the entire drive to the Galgorm, in Ballymena and I fully expected a damp wedding. Guests arrived and the sky began to break. By the time the bride arrived the skies were blue and sunny. I thought stuff like that didn’t happen?!

I was grabbing the details and the little candid moments. Here are a few- I’ll call this ‘The build up’

Tell ya what, its hard to whittle the picks down after a wedding!

    Cheers!

    Looks good Pete-
    though I’d have to say-
bit of a pity about the short guy in the middle one-

Thanks JB- agreed on the little guy. The ‘MC’ thought it would be a good time to adjust her dress. I didn’t think it was.

Nice shots, and with interesting framing and focus points. Perfect foil to a more formal photographers work.

How many times have I had people ruin great photos on wedding shoots, no amount of editing could fix!!

    Hi Pete,

really nice shoots, in the last one what did you do in PS to
achieve this colour / tone of the image, i really like the look of it.

    thanks

Thanks for all the replies folks.

Rodred- all of these were processed in lightroom. Most adjustments can be done in photoshop too. In the last one I cooled the white balance a little. Adjusted for contrast veering towards fairly strong contrast. I partly desaturated the whole image…. -50 in lightroom. And added some vignetting. That’s about it.
