The Brise on the Quays

Yesterday in the strong light,
and equally strong wind-I’ve increased the saturation quite heavily on this one,
to give it a bit more punch on a monitor,
maybe a little bit overdone though-RobMemberInteresting composition Joseph.
Despite the multiple lines and angles
there is a distinct absence of clutter.
The harsh whites cause the pale blues
to leap out of the frame.
Though the first two verticals, eastward leaning,
do disturb the overall symmetry.Rob.

You just can’t find a decent builder in this town anymore, can you?
Thanks for looking Rob, and the acute observation-
This is as it came out of the camera,
full frame,
so I was quite content not to fix it-Thgough if it was important,
it would be straight to the nanometer. Here’s another for the abyss of the Built Environment,
(again, not straight enough)
these Brise Soleil (French for Sunshade)
are becoming the most distinctive exterior motif
of the new batch of spec blocks in docklands.A far cry from the stick-on peeling plastic silver
on the ITGWU building.
or whatever the brand is now-RobMemberjb7 wrote:

or whatever the brand is now-…a long time since that particular marque was bandied about…
Love that second shot by the way. Well spotted.
Rob.

You see photo opps everywhere, and fair play to you for that. I like no.1 best with no.2 second. I wonder if no.3 has a bit of pincushion?
Your sig is in a bad place in no.1. I’d move it up and left, but fasiling that, maybe bottom left corner.

You mean like Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man?
Suppose I can’t argue with that-you’re right about the ‘bad’ distortion,
and about the watermark-
both symptoms of exporting straight from Aperture,
without correcting in Photoshop at all-When it goes to print I’ll fix it,
but I’ve got too many just now-
I was hoping to get more feedback on these,
but they just don’t seem to be doing it for anyone-Anyway,
you’ll be glad to hear that I’ve run out of irritating titles,
so this one is called ‘untitled’RobMemberjb7 wrote:

‘screen’, or ‘mantle’, perhaps ‘purdah’ or ‘portiere’.
How about Jalousie by the Quay…Nice triptych. It actually took me a moment to realise
that that’s what it was – well lined up there Joseph.
Keep ’em coming.Rob.
LoGillParticipantI have to confess a complete lack of imagination
I did look at these shots as the thread progressed and I just didn’t see it .. I’m converted now though … by presenting the trptych here I can see really strong design in the images and I must admit I’m making a resolution to look harder :)
;)
LRobertoMemberI like the second photo because the composition of the lines are more simple and the colours highlight better these lines.

Try shaving your head, and if you still look rather nice then sort of snarl a lot.
jb7ParticipantHee Hee Hee-
and to complete the image,
a Piebald without a saddle-
I hope you bought one at the weekend-Thanks again for the comments-
I suppose the second is my least favourite of these,
I quite like the first,
and the last though-Thanks for sticking with them,
I took hundreds-
but don’t worry,
this is the last,
for now, at least-And for Rob too,
who requested it-Maybe not the right place (or size) to see it though-
And at the risk of being accused of having a laugh-davenewtParticipantjb7 wrote:
