Mrs Picker was attending a dinner in TCD with yours truly as her guest. We had a look (A very good look!) at the Book of Kells exhibition, no photography allowed, unfortunately! I had no idea of the extent of this exhibition, if I had known more about this even 18 months ago, I’d have been able to add much more in-depth info to my course-work for my Creative Imaging degree. If you live in or near to Dublin, go directly to Trinity, do not pass Go, do not collect £200, just go see and marvel at the art work that monks created without Photoshop 15-16 hundred years ago. And look at the bell tower while ye’re there!
This is a really nice scene of Dublin, I wish it were more of a public thoroughfare, it would
make a lovely space for all sorts of outdoor activities, like you see in other European capitals
they all seem to have a lovely central square to hold Christmas markets, festivals, and exhibitions
etc. Dublin is sadly lacking in that department, I know we have St Stephens green but it isnt
a big open public thoroughfare.Agree with you about the Book of Kellys exhibition, and did you get a look at the library, it is a
fantastic photo opportunity.Hi Shutterbug, and thanks for your reply. Anyone can walk in and enjoy the view. The library is something else! Photography not allowed without prior permission. You have to apply at least 10 days before your intended visit, and even then you could be refused .
