Havent posted in this section in ages ! anyways took this for my club Mono comp a few weeks ago. This is my wee girl Zara. Growing soooooo fast.
Thanks for looking.AnonymousParticipantHi Sirvad, I hope you don’t mind me saying but I find this image a little ‘disturbing’
I find the face in the right of the image a little haunting. I like the grainy feel to it & the unkept
appearance of the child & the eyes although I’m not a fan of overly processed eyes!
It’s like a shot that would be used by the RSPCC!
Don’t know if this is what you intended but if it was, well done!robmgraMemberI hate to say it, but I agree with John17.
I’m not to sure what you were going for with the processing. It has a haunted, ghostly look to it. It’s like a bad poster campaign for one of those Barnardos charities. Im not sure why you would do that unless it was to fit some kind of brief?
This trend of unbelievably overly processed images are always unpleasant to look at though, and this is no exception.
sirvadMembereveryone is entitled to an opinion and i appreciate yours. why would i process it like this?for fun, after all thats what photography is about for me. i intentionally went for a haunted look…hence, The Children! Thanks for your thoughts
markst33ParticipantHi Sirvad,
I disagree with the robmgra. I really like this. I think its very unusual all right but its boring to look at the same kind of images all them time so I welcome a chance to see something different and you have certainly achieved this here.
Photographically it is perfect as the eyes are pin sharp and perfectly exposed. I really like the ghostly halo effect and I would be interested in hearing how you achieved this.

sirvadMemberThanks for your comments and time Mark. played about with motion blur and thats really it. I know its not to everyones taste but its to mine. one well in club competition so just thought id put it up so ye could have a look. Thanks again
RASMITH32Memberpersonally I like this shot …a lot. Love the processing and like the imaginative approach. If a picture is supposed to tell a story then you start to question. What is being conveyed here. Sometimes we end up with a shot that wasnt planned but looks great and as a result of not being planned the picture sends out mixed messages. Maybe this is one of those.
Either way I like it , its alternative and well executed….
