The Count and the Garda

Only one from me of today’s Parade..have a bagful of shots…but am just too tired at this stage to start editing….so..
This is one of my favourite shots from the day…. not technically brilliant…but I just thought it was a very funny moment..and not often we get to see the Gardai letting their hair down…
Just as well mind you..this young Garda looks like she’s about to have her neck sampled by the good Count.
Btw…some great shots of the Parades from all over up so far. Will look forward to browsing through them all tomorrow 8)
CoveyParticipantExpresbroParticipantYou’re probably right Covey…I always end up going overboard with the saturation on Paddy’s Day..getting carried away with all the colour ;-)
Thanks for the comment :D
jb7Participantgood one Robbie-
might be improved slightly by removing the top tier of spectators, maybe…I was wondering when yours would show up…
j
DenverDollParticipantOh that’s a good capture Robbie!
Really caught the delight of the moment..and she does almost look like she is dipping forward just in time to avoid contact with his teeth
Cute one! Wish I’d been there!
Shar
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Joseph….I have a ton of stuff from yesterday…just have to sit down and go through them all…
I’ll probably go back to this one cos it does look a little over saturated and I’ll try the crop suggested.
Shar..he was actually chasing all the Ban Garda’s…was funny… he even had one of them bent over with his cape around her..but I was on the wrong side of the road to capture it properly.
I’ll probably put a few more up here later then stick the rest on my Flickr…I’m sure people are gonna get tired of Paddy’s Day shots really quickly..hehe!!
RobMemberThis is a wonderful captured moment here Robbie; the expressions of the
spectators are fantastic, beautifully timed to get this. As has already been
mentioned, the colour does seem a little strong, and Joseph’s suggested
crop might improve it slightly, but even without corrections it works a treat.
Like this one a lot…Rob.
kenhParticipantPerfect timing and execution – I could look at this shot for hours…well done Robbie!

PS They are not called Ban Gardai any longer :)
AppleTreesParticipantI love the way you captured everyone laughing, you can’t help but smile when you look at it!
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Rob, Ken and Appletrees 8)
Rob…I’ve toned down the saturation on the later shots I edited. I hadn’t increased the saturation on the originals and I shot RAW….and actually had to drop the saturation by about 15%. Just too damned colourful that parade
Ken…thanks..always nice to hear that a shot has that kind of effect on others :D Btw..I never knew that about Ban Garda’s…what do they call them now? Must be just showing my age

Hi Robbie, they are now all just called Gardai (the only reason I know is because my daughter joined up a couple of years back).
