Only got to Laytown for the last 2 races. This was the winner of the last( anyone know the name?). A Lot Of BIG cameras and lenses about, think i was out of my dept :)
C/C welcome as always.miki gParticipantWell done Sirvad. A fabulous capture. Lovely pose & nice movement in it. A little bit more space on the right would’ve made it perfect.
SeaviewParticipantThat’s a really great shot Sirvad, excellent panning shot with the right areas pin sharp. I think the fact that the four legs are off the ground really makes this a winner. I bet this shot is one of the best shots of the day, big lenses and all. :D :D

paulParticipantGreat shot. Lovely panning technique. Great motion blur in the image. Well captured.
KyeBrownParticipantI’ve got no experience in these typesw of shots so can’t critique, but it’s a lovely looking shot, nice one!
BallymanParticipantLovely shot. Might be a little underexposed on the horse but you’d probably lose the colour in the sky if it was exposed properly.
What shutter speed did you use for this?
sirvadMemberThank you all for your kind comments, am happy with it myself. Still felt like a fish out of water with all the monster cameras standing close by. Maybe Santa might be good to me this year :)
Shutter speed was 125 of a secAlan RossiterParticipantExcellent image…nothing to be embarrassed about. Monster cameras can make monster cock-ups.
andybenitezParticipantGreat shot, one to be proud of.
Remember, its not about what camera you’ve got, it what you do with the one you have is important, and you’ve done really well with this shot.
Andy
sirvadMemberCheers guys. Thanks for the kind comments and your time to have a look.
MarkKeymasterEddieParticipantFine image I am sure the trainer or owners would love this.

sirvadMembersean fMemberCame on this via photo of the month, really lovely shot. The backdrop is quite something in itself and sets up horse and rider beautifully, all that poweful movement standing out in relief against the sky and shore, then the jockey in that hunched up state, almost asymetrical against the symetry of the horse, and still at one with each other.
