I’m afraid this doesn’t work for me. I see interesting architecture, and possibly an interesting sky, there.
Filling half the photo with grass is not good, imho, and the wall to the left is distracting.
I would guess taking the top square part would work better. Maybe b&w too as there is little colour in it anyway, try to up the contrast in the sky.
For me that’s a lot better, b&w is good. Now I’m only one guy and I do lean toward the conventional in some ways.
The second photo leads the eye through the grass to the building, that works for me. Although, for me the grass is still a bit distracting, the very long stems particularly.
One more idea, you might try getting the building away from the centre, just to throw off the symmetry a bit more.
But at this stage it is down to taste, I’m just throwing around ideas.
I hope that helps,
Had a look at the first one last week and it didnt
do anything for me.
The second one is a lot better the path leads the eye into the oicture but I
still think there is too much foliage showing and the buildings seem far
more interesting but are too far away.
the b+w works better than the colour too.
second shot better – needs colour to accentuate the contrast you are looking for between botany and concrete – plus
if you could do something with a potentially interesting sky – phew :D
