The Great Pollet Sea Arch – Fanad, Donegal

A couple from last weekend in Donegal.
Taken at this spectacular sea arch near Portsalon on the Fanad peninsula.
First time here but it was a great location.

    Thanks :)

Nice pics. Maybe it’s just a taste thing but would have liked a bit
more sharpness for the rocks under water on the foreground.
Looks like a long exposure with ND filters. Layering would be
the only way around it. But it’s just a taste thing.

    Still good pics.

On the contrary, Gerry, I think that the blurry aspect of the rocks gives an extra depth to the scene. It almost feels a 3D scene. Very nice! And yes, it is also the own taste speaking :)

Great Images Gary, thank you for sharing!

Cheers for the comments guys :) It was reasonably calm but still some waves coming in so i chose the long exposure to smooth the water. i have ones where the water is just frozen, might post it for a comparison when i get a chance.

    Great images as usual Gary,

i get whats been said about the blurred rocks, i think if you had composed with the rock (that tripod is on?) a bit further into scene, or perhaps lowered tripod height to bring that rock further into composition it might have balanced out the front middle back if you know what i mean. If not don’t worry as great image and a standard for many of us to aim for.
