    Hi,

You did well to get anything out of this at all….. I assume it is was as grey as it looks.

To draw the viewer more to the reflected tree, I would tend to crop away a fair bit of sky here, which although moody, for me doesn’t add much to the scene.

There is a spot in the sky the left of the tree, which if you are that way inclined, could be cloned away…..

But what are the square things along the horizon?

Oh,very nice! I like the swamp a lot. Makes it feel like a total wasteland with no way out. And then you see all the street lights by the road that bring you back to the present-day.. :D

    Hi Bricker,

It was quite a grey day, though not quite as grey as it looks, I did a bit of processing, hoping for a moody effect, I’m glad that it doesn’t show too obviously!

Funnily enough, I did crop away the sky a bit before my girlfriend came along and commented that it didn’t look moody enough without the sky, and after she said that, I couldn’t see it any other way :) !

I actually did not even notice that spot, I’ve looked on the original and it’s a bird, which I’ve taken your advice and cloned, as I’m not sure it adds anything to the image as it is.

I’ve cropped it down to just a bit above the treeline, which does bring in the foreground a bit more, I think, which I’ll add to the first post.

The square things are the tops of apartment blocks, unfortunately, I meant to leave in the streetlamps but not the buildings, but couldn’t get the camera to go much lower without actually submerging it, unfortunately.

I really appreciate the feedback and comments, thank you!

Thanks very much, sndipo, great for a newbie like me to get those encouraging words! Makes it worth the soggy trouser-knee :)

Good job. The cropped version is the winner I think.
