Great photographs, as usual, Andy. Some comments:

There is something about the way the light typically lifts the various colours around Dunluce. In other photographs that I have seen, it is almost provides a feel of “another world” – a bit too much like Disney I think. Your first photograph doesn’t suffer from that, fortunately. There is some interesting brown/orange light falling on the end of the headland on the left. This, the evening sun lighting up the lower slopes and the rocks in the foreground and the light on the walls of the ruin, are what make this one for me. All in all, one of the best of Dunluce that I have seen.

At first, I wasn’t too sure about the 2nd – the usual misty sea and the starlight from the setting sun all a bit too “staged”. I have looked at it a number of times and am fascinated by the sky (and the sun) and the gaps in the castle walls and windows. If it were mine, I might be reluctant to loose the sea in the foreground, but cropping it out might also improve the shot overall.

The third has a great sky and very powerful foreground composition. The eye certainly gets drawn into the centre but I find it searching around for something to keep it there.

The fourth is a surprisingly calming photograph. I love the blue hue and the dynamism of the clouds in the sky. The pink from the setting sun provides enough light to lift the middle of the scene and let you know what time of day it is. I could look at this one all day.

Superb set Andy. Anyone would be proud to have had got shot likes these
Love 2 and 4. but 2nd shot is by far the strongest. The foreground in the first is also excellent.

Andy, top top notch. Really are nice. I’d go for #’s 1 and 2. There maybe a little too much foreground in the last one, a part from that outstanding stuff. To be honset I’d say these are right up there with the best of your stuff, you’re really starting to get the hang of these sunsets   .

I hope you didn’t get caught scaling the fence, slip on the wet grass, landing on your camera and breaking a rib, now.

    Wonderful!!

Thank you everyone for the kind comments.

BM, thank you especially for putting so much detail into your critique. It’s really interesting to hear your feelings about the photos.

BrianC, I timed by visit to avoid the wardens. I’ll not tell you about the gully I tackled earlier in the evening at white rocks. I’ll hopefully have something special to share with you from down there in the next few months.
