The most creeped out you have been on a shoot?
-
jessthespringerParticipant
I’m not asking for photographic proof or anything, just were you ever shooting somewhere
and things started to feel a bit eerie?I’ve been in a few creepy places, a few old houses and an old Hospital the SARDA team use
for training their disaster dogs, that place was very creepy, the dogs all showed an interest
in one area, whining at the same spot. Seriously creepy, wouldn’t even consider going
there by myself. So,wat’s the most creeped out you have been on a shoot?
0nfl-fanParticipantA few miles from Clohamon, Co. Wexford… when Wonkafan donned these calf high, snug tight wellies as we entered a field of sheep.

It takes a real man to fill a pair of wellies…with his own feet and not ovine. 8)
Besides…I thought your creepiest experience was when you were shooting an IR shot of a derelict house when the farmer came down in his 4×4? You still have the images to prove it too!
Although the funniest/creepiest one was when another PI member was seen running down a field away from a fly fisherman. Dangerous bastages that they can be!!

Oh yes, they are a bit cross, my cousin had a run in with with a fisherman before, we were swimming in
a lake and my cousin got in the way of the fisherman, the fisherman completely lost it, and my cousin
got quite lippy too (which was really funny, as he’s the most chilled out person I’ve ever met).I kinda made the whole thing worse by saying he looked like Spiderman in his red swimming hat
and wetsuit with patches on the elbows and knees…Sorry, that’s off topic.
I mean more along the lines of Ghosts and things… Not hairy farmers in 4×4’s
0bingbongbiddleyParticipantOnce I was photographing reflections in a puddle when the ghost of a hairy farmer drove by in his 4×4 and splashed my brand new photography gloves.
0shutterbugParticipantI was setting up a night shot in a house and was busy checking everything
when I turned round…..shiver………and caught sight of myself in the mirror!!
Frightened the beyaysus out of me :)And another time (now this DID scare me) driving home late one night you know
when you kind of go into autopilot when you know the roads well, well I had the
rear view mirror dipped because I was being dazzled by bigger and better cars
behind me and I happened to look in the mirror and saw eyes looking at me from
the rear of the car…..no kidding I really got a fright, then I realised that when the
mirror is on dipped it gives a double reflection……yep my eyes!! To this day I
always check in the back of the car before travelling home at night.0MartinParticipantI’m used to being in grave yards on my own when the sun is going down or when its fairly dark when I am doing the infrared stuff. Never been afraid or anything cause I’m a real man so I don’t get scared
Two weeks ago I was shooting at Rathmore Church in Co Meath on my own. Its a bit off the road and totally ruined with high grass and bushes going over the grave stones and all that, totally wild and over grown… any how was looking around and walked through a narrow opening and found myself in a crypt. I saw a big stone coffin type thing in the middle of the floor with some carving on it, wasn’t expecting it at all, really spooky, was totally shocked and got the hell out of there asap, wasn’t expecting it at all:-) so i suppose I am not a real man after all…

0johnnymcParticipantI purchased a new camcorder last year with the intentions of capturing aspects of my kids lives that cameras don’t, namely their speech, hand/body movements, crawling etc.
I was recording them having some fun in the kitchen one night a few months back and ended up getting a lot of stuff recorded that I didn’t see/observe with my eyes. Way out really! For anyone that has heard of “orbs”, all I can say is that there were 2/3 floating around the kids constantly. Strange stuff!!
I’m very relaxed in my home and don’t really get spooked, but after watching the video footage a few times, I can’t help but wonder what it all was about. Definitely not dust!!!
0jessthespringerParticipantNow I wished I hadn’t asked… I’ll be awake all night!
Jenny – Creepy, I can relate, I used to do a bit of open water swimming, really poor visibility sometimes, like maybe 2 ft, anyway, my mind kinda wanders
once I get into a steady rhythm, every now and again if I catch sight of my own hand it can really scare the crap outta me!Martin – If you were a real man, you would have taken a picture when you were down there!
Seriously though, that is scary… Stupid question, but was it really dark in there? Would you go back?johnnymc – mad! they’re supposed to be benign, I think?
0MartinParticipantStupid question, but was it really dark in there? Would you go back?
No not that dark. Its a small enclosed room with a window letting light in so I was able to see in there. Yea i’ll be going back for a shot of the exterior for defo, I’ll try to build up the courage then and brave it and get a pic of the stone coffin for the crack:-) Will be doing it mid day though and bringing my Mother to hold my hand:-)

0cathaldParticipantYou should take a run out with Andy when he is going into one of his caves
He tells you the stories behind the cave which normally involves the deaths of someone
You’ll keep looking behind you with your tripod at the ready to swing at something0bigalguitarpickerParticipantLiked the bit about fishermen. One of my sons was canoeing once, when an angler shouted that he was frightening the fish. “F**k off!” shouts our fella, “You’re f**king killing them!”
