Well spotted. It’s a tricky exposure due to the black door, and the white surround, and the lack of detail in the door on the left lets it down a bit. Makes your think though!

Agreed. Great idea Egg. You seem to have a good eye for these kind of shots. Like Merv I agree that it could have done with a bit more detail ..but the idea is great and you composed it well in my view.

Thanks guys, yeah the door on the left is a bit dark. It was originally in colour but I thought it might be more effective in B&W :D

It’s a great shot and well spotted.
the title suggests a whole back story with I love.

The only thing that puts me off ( and it is nothing to do with yourself )
is that the contrast between the two sides of the wall is so severe that the
    picture almost looks artifical.

maybe it’s just my impression of it though

Thanks Graham, I can assure you its not artificial though it does look that way I must admit. I did some level adjustments to the overall image and perhaps that effected it but the reason I stopped in the first place to take it was because of such a contrast between the two doorways. Thanks for your response!

Egg, don’t get me wrong I was in no way implying that you had modified the image.
It’s more that very clear line on the brick work. To me it screams that the “clean” neighbours
had some sandblasting done and the line the sandblasters acheived is amazing.
Trust me I was not doubting your work at all. I think it’s a great picture and very well
    spotted

No worries graham I know what you meant, I think! :D Cheers again for feedback
