Very graphical qualities to this Alan. Again, I like the simplicity and
starkness. This 50/50 split thing is really catching on. I must phone Mick
    and tell him… ;)

You ain’t half on a roll today!

Have to say I quite like this one. It’s sort of quirky, the composition defies all the rules but it’s simplicty (composition and muted tones) work well.

Not that I know anything much about printing, but I would be curious to see this printed.

PS. I think I’m onto why you want that 110 filter now as well

Cheers Rob – I made a reply to your suggestion elsewhere!

    Excellent in simplicity.
Sometimes hardest it is found simple frames.
I always I have problems with this.

    Hi Alan,
i like this photo and not… SORRY!
It’s nice when I go from left side…. but I don’t like the right side because the ‘sharp cut’ of the object….
the strong line above the pier doesn’t look good …. IMO!!!!

For my humble hap’oth just the right space at the left of the pier makes the picture. Very striking,

This is a nice image but I feel some changes would make it a lot stronger. Cropping a smaller square so that the pier stretches the full way across the frame, and so that the white section is removed, might work. Also, I think stronger toning and/or burning of the sky/sea to reveal a little texture would be useful.

Very nice Alan, like the composition. don’t think it would work at all if the pier went all the way across
I really like the white bit on the RHS as well and I would just love to be able to do this kind of processing
    film or digital.

    Love it

This one is really growing on me. I prefer it over the rocks. Wasnt sure when I first saw it. Your subject in these would have to be absolutely spot on sharp (im sure it is) for them to work. Very interesting image. I like the way the pier ends on the left so you can go aroud it.
