while i really like elements of this image other areas prevent it from being as striking as perhaps it could be….
1 the light is beautiful, really serene and i love the golden light coming through the window from the far side. shame about the tiny area where the highlight bleeds over the building.
2 i like the purple of the thistle and the way its caught in the light but i think the way it overlays the bridge detracts from both thistle and bridge.
3 the grass at the bottom of the frame does nothing for me
4 the sky above the blue patch also seems redundant, though perhaps it would be improved if there wasn’t that wee bit of tree in the top corner…
just my opinion at the end of the day though…
shutterbugParticipantThank you Isabella, I had seen a photograph of this place a while ago and the sunset
was directly behind the window, I wanted to see if I could get something similar, and while
the sun was almost in the right spot I felt another couple of weeks would nail it. I wasnt
particularly paying much attention to the other aspects of the shot….shame on me….but I
remember noticing the thistle and thinking it was nice the way the light was catching it.I can totally see where you are coming from on the other points mentioned, and when I return
to get the “perfect” shot  I will remember all your comments. Thanks again.!DanBParticipantWhat a beatiful image, Jenny! I agree that you can find a better crop to sort out the grass in the foreground or the top sky, but the centre of the image is indeed superb. The light, the detail, the colours are what this image is about. The rest is less obvious. Now, If only I could fit the whole image on the monitor…
shutterbugParticipantYoqueMemberwhat a beatuifull light! i have no bad comments for it! thanks for sharing!
