Probably not what you are looking for but i really dislike shots like these (b+w) with one item left in colour (usually red)
Sorry but its just my opinion.Liam2673ParticipantI would agree with ben in general re the coloured object, but I suppose if there is a candidate for that type of treatment then this could be it…. i.e. the shot probably wou;dn’t work particularly well in colour, and there is not enough contrast or detail for and interesting B&W, so the sign makes it a bit more interesting that it would otherwise be.
BallymanParticipantI’m the opposite. I like this kind of image although I don’t think it works here. It looks like it was shopped into the photo or something.
PeteWMemberWhilst not to everyones taste, they certainly are popular these kind of shots, and subject to numerous articles on how best to produce them, and I’m sure we’ve all had a go.
This one in particular, to me, looks like a magazine ad. I can see this appearing in the local Friday paper supplement with text overlaid down the right and at the bottom. Under those circumstances, it works I think.AnonymousParticipantYeah I don’t know. The photo itself is a bit dull. The red sign make it more eyecatching. I think its the only thing you could do with this shot.
The shop manager will be happy with it thoughPuckpicsMemberPeteW wrote:

no ‘photoshopping in’ treatment just desaturated everything else…
