The Royal Pavilion, Brighton
Here are some arthitecture shots for c & c. I was trying to capture the building free of tourists and in its natural enviorment. Some of the angles are a bit awkward due to the location and the amount of people about at that time of day – suggestions for improvements to the crops and processing would be welcomed.

As an aside – I might be organising another trip to thie location and next time photographing the interiors (which have to be seen to be believed). This is not free as you need to pay the trust for photographic access to the interiors – out of curiosity would anyone else here be interested in being included in this expedition to photograph the interiors of the pavillion ?
jb7ParticipantDepends on timing, as usual, Gerard-
though I think you really just want to go for a rave on the beach-This building is a lovely confection-
and quite unusual in being very open,
in the centre of the town-Don’t have much time here now,
but you did well with these-The usual comments-
rotation, verticals-
viewpoint in the first could maybe be a little lower,
making the most of the leaves, and separating the minarets from the trees-In the second, the wing on the right might have been excluded-
the central part of the building surrounded by the garden is the main interest-
More like your mono 3rd shot-Buildings really benifit from having their verticals straightened,
and any distortions removed,
in my opinion-Lovely to see this one again-

RobMemberEverything Joseph said. Nice to hear it referred to as a ‘confection’, my thoughts
the first and only time I visited Brighton about six years ago, cameraless, and no
hankering to take up photography.
The interiors, as you say, are pretty amazing. I’d be interested in a trip, though
timing might be an issue for me too.Rob.
gerardkParticipantThanks for checking – I think I do need to re-check the verticals (thought I had but was slightly out). The distortion – I am usually a bit anxious about fixing in photoshop as often the photoshop distortion correction tools leave pixels bunched and sometimes a slight amount of distortion is preferable. Then again maybe not.

I re-checked the filming situation and here is more info :

it looks like ?250 stg per day for an interior. I will ask them if that includes all rooms for a limited time and try to get more information from them.
I was thinking late february ? I was also thinking of london for a few nights of architectural /cityscape photography and then on down to birmingham – anyone any thoughts on that ?
