Took a lot of shots at the Parade today, but was disappointed with the outcome. Got quite a lot of soft shots and out of focus shots…obviously I had some settings wrong, but that’s okay…as long as I can understand what I did wrong. Got a few decent shots anyway, of which I think this is one.

I like the colours and composition.
It looks like shot of carneval from Italy ….

Nice shot Robbie. Really vivid colours here.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the blurred ones.
Practice makes perfect. You wouldn’t beleive me good to bad
ratio when i first picked up the canon.

True Graham..but it’s still frustrating. If I learn from it fine…then the time is worth it. Might post a few up here with Exif to see what others think.

Thats not a bad plan, maybe a “Where did I go wrong” section would work.
A place where people knew they were mistakes and jsut to point out where to
    make changes.

I really like this one, lovely vivid colours, and he really stands out from the background – nice depth of field. Looks like the D80 is serving you well.

The colours are great, as well as the framing. Don?t see nothing wrong with the focus or blur

Thanks Paperdoll…yeah..is really great using the D80, but still getting to grips with the settings and stuff. To be honest I haven’t been able to spend the time on it lately that I’d like to…heading out this afternoon for a few hours (day off work..yaaay!!) so gonna play some more :D

Patricia..this is one of the better shots…I have a LOT more with bad focus and blur..still a bit mystified…but is all part of the learning process..and I still did manage to come away with a handful of shots that I like.Either way..was a fun day with my daughter anyway :D
