We all have our own favourites when we go through our photographs. It’s always interesting when some pics that I don’t really rate turn out to be others favourites. This is a favourite for me from our recent trip to Valentia island. I find it relaxing and peaceful. I am linking to a smaller Flickr version. If you want to see it in a bigger size just click on it and it will take you to the Flickr site where there is a bigger version. I’d be interested in your comments.
Mick451ParticipantelludeParticipantRobertoMemberI like the tones of blue and grey.
I would crop the front part and the top of the grey cloud, make it panoramatic format.ValentiaMemberThanks folks. Roberto, I don’t think so. The whole feel of different tones would be destroyed and it would look like so many other pics then. Thanks though :)
SteveDParticipantI agree that this needs a crop. Perhaps a little boost to midtone contrast could help things too. I like the muted colours.
LoGillParticipantI think this is a really lovely landscape … the tones are muted yes.. but it works… Would look great as part of a series if you had more from the shoot ?
Niiiiceee !!

ThorstenMemberI like this too – reminds me a little of Paul Wakefields work! I would consider cropping out about half of the dark cloud on the top of the image though.
MarkKeymasterLovely tones all the way throug. Well done
A crop to the sky would help, I think that having it the same height as is from the horizon line to the bottom of the photograph would work.

ValentiaMemberThanks everyone. I will try the crop. I just feel that the expanse of cloud adds to the broodiness.
LoGill, here are two more taken around the same time:
PS. Just tried the crop and it does work better with some of the sky taken away. Thanks for that! :)

Agree with you, there’s something about the big bank of cloud that I like.
Third one is cool too, reminds me of a Yes album cover.
