The Times; Top 100 movies of the decade

I thought it was a decent list: don;’t know about the Top 10, the number 1 was a movie that didn’t particularly move me, and as for Casino Royale…..but reading through it my overriding thought was how many really great movies there have been this decade.
Some of my favourites:
The Pianist
In This World
Le Grand Voyage
Blood Diamond
The Bourne movies
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Man on Fire

Hidden is a probably one of my favorite films but you are right I don’t think it belongs at
the top. Great to see ‘Let the right one in’ on the list. Probably the best movie I watched
this year.Richie
100 movies of the decade? That must be nearly all the movies made in a decade isnt’ it? How can one person see enough movies to pick a top 100? Thtas like 200 hours before you even reject one.
That’s only ten films a year. Some people might go to the cinema every week. Even once a month is 12 films a year, never mind renting films or seeing them on TV.
Cache (Hidden) is a great film, but I’d never expect to see it as someone’s number 1 on a list like this.
They give away too much of Hidden in this list though. If anyone want to see it, don’t read this list.
My memory only goes back to one year max, and the best film this year was Let the right one in.
