Spotted this sitting in the mist and it really caught my eye.

    Hi Kieran,

    I like this one.
Really good composition, I think, with that rickity fence.

I couldn’t help wondering if that tree had any autumn colour
on the leaves the colour version might be good but you’ve
    probably already thought of that.

    I know, I know. :)
If you posted the colour I’d probably be wondering about the mono.

    Well done.

    John.

    Thanks for the response John.

You are right about the colour version. It was very dull with the mist and the tree really only stood out in B&W IMO.
Here’s the original untouched colour version so you can see what I mean:

    Hi Kieran,

I should have trusted your decision. :)

The mist robs the tree of it’s colour and any impact.

    Cheers.

The b&w looks good. And the fence really helps. I think this would also be one to check out on a foggy morning in the depths of winter when all the leaves have gone. It looks to have great branch structure and if it was a little foggier it might isolate it from the background a bit more.

Hi Kieran. The b&w version is definitely the best. I love the fence in this shot.

    Thanks for the responses.

Fergus – I agree about a re-visit, when you wander off the path there are definately some nice winter shots to be had.
miki_g – the original was so bad it was only when I converted to B&W that I even noticed the fence. It really brings it out and IMO give the picture some interest.
