The Tree In The Valley
-
jessthespringerParticipant
From the Annalong Valley today, I also have to say thanks to Martin for showing me this tree.
SteveDParticipantIt is quite moody and I like the composition, but I would prefer to see a bit more detail around the base of the tree. I think the foreground is fairly important in a photo like this which shows a large expanse, so reprocessing with less burning might work well.
Also, there appears to cloning/dust removal error just to the left of the tree.

Cheers Steve, I know what you mean about the detail at the base of the tree… there was a little but I cloned it out with the black because I kinda liked how the light went from the base of the tree down the other side of the valley.
Yes, I made a horlicks of cloning that wee bit of dust  not great in PS!
SteveDParticipantIt is fairly tricky when it is in the clouds. Just make sure you use a small soft edge clone brush, and sample from as close to the dust as possible.
LoGillParticipantGreat mood and drama.. I really like the look of this – but .. IF… you print it.. go back and dig out that detail as suggested – it’ll be worth it ;)

MartinParticipantAs i said in the F place very nice shot. I would print as it is and see how it looks, would have a go processing as Steve said and also make a print and see what it looks like. Which ever version you decide works best for you im sure it will look very nice, well done

Alan RossiterParticipantCall me weird but I think the detail in the foreground is more than adequate. I would like to see the lighter ground in the valley lightened a bit more and more extensive…as if the valley was the point of interest of the image and the tree added to provide another level of perspective.
Alan
mgstParticipantReally like the the composition and the pano format reminds me of U2 the Joshua tree but would like to see
more detail in the forground.Mick

aoluainParticipantI dont Know Sinead,
The mood is nice in the image but I would class this image as
LO-FI.
There is not a great deal of detail and I think the left hand side is OTT
its too dark.My opinions of course.
Alan
jessthespringerParticipantThanks again all…
Steve, I will defo sort that out before/if I print it.
Lorraine, thank you and I will.
Martin, cheers, and yeah thats a good idea.
Alan, dude, you, are, weird :P If I do this again, I might try that.
Mick, you are the second person to say that about the U2 album.. Cheers!
Lorraine, you can come out of the corner now…. there is no room for the rest of us!
Scotty and Roberto, cheers lads!
Alan, not sure I’d agree about LO-FI, not sure what you mean? Oh, the detail? Left hand side too dark…. But, I like the dark
