Went down to the Curragh Camp cemetery and got this shot. Def have to get the tripod as it’s slightly out of focus but thought I’ll post anyway for composition sake.
    Thanks, Leon

    Hello Cota-
you may not need a tripod for a shot like this-
brightly lit, distant subject, wide lens-
maybe better hand-holding technique would be enough-

    It is soft though,
would be good if you were able to figure out why…

    jb7, thanks for your comments.
I tried to get the depth of field right with the result that the shutter was a bit slow and came out a bit under exposed. Had it in aperture priority.

For a shot like this, you could use f/8-
I don’t know what you took it on, I can’t read your exif,
but at 100iso, that should give you around 1/200th /sec at least, in that light-

No need to stop down too much-
you can download a depth of field widget, and put some sample values in-
should give you an idea of what you can get away with-
Failing that, there are lots of online depth of field calculators-

Its usually good not to stop down too much anyway-
the image can be degraded by diffraction also-

Not too good for small sensors-

It worthy to go back and do more shots.
Try to do few with low position that the wall become more dominant.
