This is the first photo I’ve posted up here but please don’t hold back on the C&C. This has not been processed and I’d really welcome any suggestions as to what might enhance it.

Great expression! The colour looks a little off on my screen a nbit of a purple
hue off it, this can easily be rectified in ps though.

yeah as said, it has a purple hue. a tighter crop ( get rid of sky as its too bright and not needed). Nice shot

Nice expression. I would suggest BW conversion. I kind of like this shot ;)

    Hi smcclaw,

As has been already said this is quite a nice portrait.
With F1.2 and a moving subject you have done well to
    get the eyes so sharp.

I would agree with cropping that bit of bright sky off the top.

All in all I’d say well done.

Nice focus on the eyes and composition.

I took the liberty of de-purpling it a bit. I don’t know what colour the shirt should be, so I may have got it wrong!

The colour still looks slightly off, but its much better than the first version of the shot. the crop works well, and the photo is looks good over all, the eyes are sharp and the expression on the lad’s face is class,

    Nice shot, well done

    Thanks for all the comments.

The crop was definitely a good idea and there’s no denying the purple hue to it. I’ve got that few times with this lens (never with any other one though – maybe I need to venturee away from AWB).

I’m trying to teach myself a little more every week in PS so this is a picture I’ll revisit in a while when I get a little more comfortable with the editing process. Maybe as Bartek suggests I’ll have a go at a B+W conversion too.

Thanks for the rework MikeL. i wouldnt worry about what colour his t-shirt actually is as there is mud, toothpaste, probably some breakfast on it….
