Besides shooting long format television shows we do tv spots, and promos . Below are a couple of shots from the last two weeks. We had about 14 on air talent in our studios. The main studio is 80 feet x 100 feet with a seamless cyc that is about 42 feet x 38 feet. The promos were shot on the Red Camera, http://www.red.com” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; . The second studio is maybe about 60 feet by 4o feet. It was a 6 day shoot with 10-12 hour days. The lighting was HMI’s, tungsten and fluorescents all mixed together but gelled to be the same color in the end. If one shot or so was a bit blue because of the HMI’s they can always tweak in the post production process. The Red camera is a tapeless camera where the images and audio are captured on Compact Flash cards……..aaaaaa the tapeless world.

Been a bit since i have gone to the red site
interestingGizzoParticipantyes there was quite a buzz around those red cameras.
some say it’s the future..MartinOCParticipantVery interesting to see your work Tim, thanks for sharing.
Btw there is a very good in-depth review of Red cameras in American Cinematographer Magazine this month,
from someone who has worked with Red a lot. Seems to be quite a balanced article, its not all hype. The article is not online but this is the magazine

francescoParticipantI think it’s one of the possible futures, after all both Arri and Panavision have digital cameras on the market, the big difference is that RED is truly revolutionary for a number of reasons (price tag, the fact they built it from scratch in less than 2 years, and the whole modularity aspect of it). Still, 35mm film is doing fine and to this day remains the format of choice for the majority of motion pictures, but I can’t see why the two media shouldn’t be used for different purposes…different tools for different needs.
By the way, when you start thinking about a modular full frame DSLR with a resolutoion of +25 megapixel, than can shoot video at 100 frames per second, and priced at 30k €, it’s hard not to get excited :-)p.s. lots of useful information at the official Red forum, http://www.reduser.net
p.p.s. I’ve been told there are a few red ones in Ireland…these guys have 6 for rental
