I took this just after first light in Merrion Square this morning. Comments welcome.
Horace.
brookiedParticipantHi the shot is ok, i like the view point but the sharpness is lacking.
One point i will make is that my lad was on my lap while i was looking at this shot, what i did not like is the hosting site having topless women advertising porn sites. can you us a different hosting service maybe, photobucket maybe and direct link to the post
thanks
Dedit a typo
Not Pete the blokeParticipantPoeticJusticeMemberI’m mortified. My humblest apologies to you both. I simply used the “Upload image” button in this site’s own page. One might have thought SteveD would be more concerned about filth like that than my modest attempts at poetry, which he removed last night in the twinkling of an eye. That’s what I understood, anyway. Perhaps he removed last night’s photo because of similar pornography – he simply said that my thread had been hijacked. That must be what he meant. I’ll repost it.
I don’t know what to do, but I’ll look at photobucket.
Sorry again.
Horace
ExpresbroParticipantCommon problem with Postimage.org. Is it not about time it was jettisoned? Half the time I won’t even open a thumbnail unless it looks really really interesting and I just have to. Pop up pages galore usually greet me.
Btw… I like the perspective on this shot. I think it is hard to make an interesting shot of a statue most of the time.

andy mcinroyParticipantIt was me that hijacked your other thread PJ,
Sorry about that. Nothing pornographic I can assure you. Just good old fashioned CSI Photography Ireland.
It was off topic for sure, but you did ask which part of Donegal it was, which I well and truely answered.
Shame it was deleted, it was quite a bit of detective work.

LoGillParticipanthmmmm .. I knew a “PJ” once … funny guy ;) Anyway I missed the controversy last eveining .. I saw the shot in question but never got around to commenting on the photograph ?
For this one I personally like your perspective on this shot.. Its always a tough one in terms of deciding what to throw out of focus with DoF … … in this i feel the statue could be clearer in focus .. or .. dare i say it .. even a case for selective or desaturated colouring.. to highlight your subject (assuming its Oscar).
I’m not usulally interested in a photo of a statue/ sculpture or another person’s art .. although with this perspective it could be an exception .. but its not quite there for me .. this time ;)
