1 second later I was 3ft in water, soaked :)
Let me know what you think.

I would say it was worth it – looks more like mist than water in this picture – gives it a very alien kind of look to it (in my opinion). I like the way the tones in the sky are very similair to the look of the ocean further out so they almost blend into each other. Cool picture.

Definitely worth it! I like the movement of the water. Inspires me to try B&W!

Love it Mark, really do, i’d love to see a really dramatic sky though.

    8) Fantastic shot Mark, well done. Almost like dry ice vapours pouring over the rocks. Agree with Ali though and would love a more dramatic sky 8)

Great water, but agreeing with everyone that the sky is a bit meh. How long of an exposure was it?

I’m going to buck the trend here and say I don’t like the shot much.

Blurred water effect can be really nice, but for it to be done well I think you have to have a LONG exposure so the water is a complete mist. By the looks of this you captured just one wave (and got caught by it at the same time  ) so drama wise it’s just not there. The shot is taken from two high a perspective too for my liking – I know it’s riskier but a lower perspective would have helped enourmously as would a dramatic sky. You obviously can’t change perspective now, but you could definitely play around with the sky in PS and boost the drama in the shot significantly.
