Looks like you were on your knees for this one. Taken at a good level.
    Interesting character also.
The blurred person on the left is a bit of a distraction though, perhaps a crop might improve it.

I like tha position and angle.
I would not mind the blurred person if could see the face. I would crop or clone out the wheel from a trolly on the left.
But I like the relax atmosphere of it.

Sorry Ciaran but this one looks too cluttered for me.
The shot of the old man on his own is class and your angle is great.
There is just too much going on in the background that takes away from the subject.
The blurred person is acting as optical illusion for me. I cropped the guy on his own on screen
and it does work for me anyway.

Afraid I’d be with Graham on this one. The clutter is too much for my
eyes to take in. I don’t think the conversion is up to your usual high standards
either to be honest. Nothing really pops here, and because there’s so much
information in the frame, even boosting contrast levels isn’t going to help
isolate your subject a whole lot more. Just my shekels worth…

Do you realise the difficulty I had getting that guy blurred in the background :) I guess it works for some and not for others. It was very much an intentional thing, with the aim to capture motion whilst the subject was still. I took about 20 shots of this guy and had to wait for someone to be going REAL quick for it to work. Anyway, I’ll wait and see what the sentiment is like towards the shot.. I do have one with just the man and may print that one instead :?

Ciaran – I can totally appreiciate the challenge you faced.
To be honest I could never had pulled it off.
As a demonstration of your technical skills the shot is perfect in every way.
It’s probably just me but the background is just too distracting. Sorry

The woman behind him with the shoulder bag is more of a distraction to my eyes to be honest. Then again..it’s street photography, not landscape , and it is a lot harder to get a nice clear view of your subject. I like the idea that he’s lost in his book with all the activity going on around him. I can relate to him 100%. :D

    Ciaran,

Do you have a version with the woman’s head in the shot ?
