Tintern Shed
-
Alan RossiterParticipant
Anyone would think I had a fetish for sheds but they do make good subjects. I’ve a couple more in mind so watch this space. This is just around the corner from Tintern Abbey in Wexford. I originally sent it to B&W, then toned it and applied a softening layer to remove the harshness from the leaves. Certainly another to consider for a revisit when the growth starts again.
Alan.
jessthespringerParticipantNice one Alan, I handed in something very like this for my last assignment… I really like this kind of location, great for moody atmospheric type shots.
I’l be interested to see more of these.Sinead.
BrickeeParticipantJay KingParticipantWhat I love about this is how the darkened path leads you right up to the shed… nice shot.
Could be a spot or two on the roof that’s a bit blown… I’m sure you could pull the highlights back a bit though.
ExpresbroParticipantGorgeous shot Alan…. like pretty much everything about it. The path leading your eye through…the texture and tone of the trees..the whole mood.
One of my favourites of yours … 8)
irishshaguaParticipantThis is a really nice image. Beutiful lead into it with the track leading towards the shed and I love the overall colou of the shot. Very nice

ossie13ParticipantAlan agree with what’s already said…………………….great shot and definately worth a revisit!!
Cheers Steve
MartinParticipantThis is very nice Alan well done. Echo everyone else’s comments above, one for the printer for sure
mgstParticipantjb7ParticipantYes, good shot, very rich-
much better picture than if you had taken a shot of the Abbey of the same name-j
DenverDollParticipantThis is beautiful Alan~
I can’t add much to what has been said..except that if you like sheds…come to Colorado…old mining towns and abandoned sheds galore.
Your stuff is so good you could probably publish a book just of my neck of the woods!
Lurve the processing.
Shar
nfl-fanParticipantTintern has been good to us WX lads.
I recognise this shed… snapped a few the last time I was there with lousy. Can’t say I was too pleased with them though, all a bit pedestrian at the time.
You’ve done well here, made a nice composition of this. Didn’t recall seeing that pathway at the time, but I was more intent on exploring the river.
softening layer to remove the harshness from the leaves
Interesting… have a few shots that could benefit from this!
RobMemberFantastic work Alan, beautiful image, and I’ll bet this
prints really well. Perhaps one for round two of our print club –
I know I’d like a copy of this one…Rob.
