Only a print will really tell, but i prefer the patched version here as it stands…
When processing contrasty B&W images there is always a chance of blowing part of the sky out. I always duplicate the base layer at the start before and processing so that I can mask the blown highlights back in. In a separate layer where I have masked back in I then play with the contrast to make it fit back into the picture
This is a nice shot for B&W. I would however push the contrast more with an S shaped curve. B&W is all about mood, contrast and creative dodging and burning are used to help create this mood
