If put a Tokina ATX 12-24mm F4 on my Canon 350D or 400D, taking into account that the 35mm focal length is equal to approx 1.6 times the marked focal length, (which works out at 19.2) Sooo … is the supplied kit lens (18-55) going to give me a wider angle than the Tokina? Taking into account that the Tokina will give me better, sharper more crontrasty quality images, it’s the wide angle I’m looking for.(Clear as mud I hear you say)
Thanks in advance
Thanks folks. It makes sense alright, but I wasn’t sure if the supplied kit 18-55 has to operate at the same crop (i.e. 1.6). Because it’s made for the camera I presumed that it wa a true 18mm view as opposed to a 18mm x 1.6 = 28.8mm lens.
