Trash da Dress!

AnonymousParticipant
Hi
Been away for a while and missed this forum, had my first ever trash the dress shoot today, really crappy weather but had a great time with Priya & Ciara. Ok so we didnt venture into the water but we did give the local soccer team something to keep their eye off the ball! Would love some feedback on these, just ran them through lightroon with hardly any photoshopping yet! Thanks
Ben
easParticipantHi Ben,
Good work. I really like the one of her sitting on front of the Bender. I think the comp works really well and is probably the one that shows the most disrespect for the dress.
did the dress get trashed or not?
Jim LeeParticipantGreat work by the 3 of you……
Thought you had used an actual bride though.
derrycityParticipantgreat set of shots only issue is a bride likes to see the detail of the the dress .
i dare say say this is very difficult to acchiveSetantaBParticipantvery impressive set – it can be hard to do a differnet type of “trash ” so that it’s not the same old same old, but I think your location and brides posing enhances it well

Cheers for the coments, the dress itself was not fully trashed as the weather went against us and we only had about 10-15mins of shooting, i had planned to do more but it just got too miserable and i was afraid the model priya would freeze to death! :( however i plan to do a whole series of these with maybe a water feature next time or even fire  I was given about 30 or so weddings gowns by a bridal shop that im next door to and they loved the idea(the dresses were old samples) so i have loads of girls including the shop owner lined up to do it! I get lots of brides coming in to the studio enquiring about it but most are reluctant to trash it completly so i offer them a choice of the sample dress and they go for that.
Ideally its best sold to a group of brides whom maybe are friends and are up for a laugh! A bottle of cheap bubbly and off ya go!!
BenBroadford1ParticipantLoved the entire set, but I particularly loved shot No. 7 – the close up on the face.
A beautiful portrait. Well done.PitmaticMemberGreat set of photos love number 4 especially and 5 and 9 great portraits and so much more interesting than the usual wedding portraits nice one.
