    One of my favourite little birds, I know I have so many :lol: But these little
    birds are fascinating to watch (if you are lucky enough to see one) they spiral
    up the trunk of the tree searching for insects, using their stiff tail feathers to
    balance and grip.

    aww the cutie, i love them too. used to have one on the apple tree where i grew up…

    can’t say that i like the effect on the background at all though. i know its trying to make the bird pop out making up for too long a depth of field but it looks like cheap linoleum to me and real flattens and detracts from the whole image.

    surely there must be a more subtle way of going about it…

    Thanks Isabella, not a great shot I know, it was almost pitch black were I
    was taking it so the ISO was high causing a lot of noise, the “lino” effect
    is probably the cause of too much smoothing, it was taken at f2.8 so it wasnt
    a case of to much dof, just bad processing.
