Tripod to the plane?

Hi. I’m going to Barcelona for couple of days, and wondering, would it be ok with airport security to bring my tripod as a hand baggage?

I’d imagine that you’d have to check it in tbh.

I’ve never tried. I always put mine in my check-in luggage.

i’d no issues getting my monopod through security before, bar being awkward to pack i dont see you having any issues. They might take it out and test it but since it goes through the xray machine they’ll see its fine. only problem i had was with my camera bag they took it out and checked it for drugs.

I tried to take mine on a plane once; made it as far the the hand-luggage scanner; was politely but decisively asked to check it in. No go.
