Trouble with flickr

Yup its me again. We have been trying to use flickr properly as part of the process of getting our photos up on P.I., and thank you to all those who have had the patience to answer our questions in the previous thread.

Basicly I originally used the upload photos button from the home page. Then with the next page I clicked the step one choose photos icon. Then I browsed as prompted. This gives you files from which to pick your photos. I really dislike having photos presented to me in that fashion, perhaps I’m spoiled with the photoshop elements organiser??????????

Then a guy on flickr suggested I use the flickr uploader tool. I presume its better. I can’t get it to work. I choose photos in the same manner as the previous method and then I am told that the flickr uploader has to connect to my flickr photostream. Whenever I try to do that it keeps telling me NAH.

There was a URL, (there’s that word again!!!!!!!!!) it suugested going into if it didn’t work. That told me there was somthing wrong, :o (WOW), and that it wasn’t their problem- THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They directed me to flickr services, which directed me when I searched to uploading photos through some API method. I think that means somthing about writing your own computer programme?????????????????????

Am I barking anywhere near the right tree or am I just barking mad?

Can I e-mail photos to flickr? I’ll have ye all worn out soon.

If anyone can help that would be great :D .

I’m not as frustrated as the !!!!! sugest: honest, just expressing myself

    James,

I cannot really make out what you are doing.

When I login to Flickr, the first page after loging on gives me a button to ‘upload pictures’

clicking that gives a second page with 6 ‘browse’ buttons, where i can select the picture
files from a folder on my desktop.

After selecting the pics i click the upload pictures again and there is a sliding scale
to show the uploading progress of the files you selected.

When the notification for the pictures fully uploaded comes up i just click home.

When you go to the ‘photostream’ page you can then select your individual pics.

    hope this help’s.

Thanks aoluain what you described makes perfect sense to me and has been helpful.
I guess all this computer stuff gets muddeled in my head especially when there are diferent ways given of doing the same thing. Naturally I want to try and do things in the right or best way.
On another thread there is another system mentioned that is for uploading photos on to P.I. which to be honest is too complicated for me. I mention this to put it in context how daunting this is when your new and not naturally knacky at computers.
From other posts I understand that people on P.I. prefer to use the url method than the, “Add image to post”, link in P.I. itself. I have looked at the critque forums and I agree that this the url method is much more adaptable and better to look at.

So I have learned somthing over these last fwe days, and again thanks to all those who have helped and if anyone else in my position has benefited from my posts in the last fwe days well then it was well worth it.
