Turkish Cypriot Goat

Taken at St Hilarion Castle near Girne in Cyprus (or Kyrenia, the geography of that region is so confusing with the greek and turkish names!)… This momma goat was there with her baby and the daddy goat. Not really a superfantastic shot, it was tough exposing for goaty without the blown out mountain in the background (plus it was right at 300mm as well, so it’s not like I could zoom in any more)

    Nice shot Antifuse.
Very sharp too at 300mm. You could always crop away the blown section
right to the goat’s hindquarters for portrait format, or even a square crop around
the goat. Good capture all the same

I agree..this really is very sharp…considering it’s at max zoom. I think this is a really unusual and interesting shot and I wouldn’t crop it as I think it adds depth and context to the shot. Also it was very nice of Mrs Goat to pose for you like that … :D

I love this shot. A different sort of image. However does momma goat know that baby and daddy goat are no longer there!

Cheers for the comments folks – I didn’t want to crop it because I liked the drop-off to the right of the goat (it was actually a pretty serious drop, as well… but baby and daddy goat just hopped on down like it was nothing!)
