There’s been a few lighthouse images posted the last few days.
I remembered I had these from a few weeks back.
    I hope I haven’t posted them before. :?

“Some guys get all the luck”………… getting out on boats to capture lighthouses!!!

I think the light was against you here John… a bit harsh I would think-
but the lighthouse is well exposed and great to get the chance.

Lighthouses all over the place.. I prefer the first image. If it was as white as the second one, that would be an improvement in my mind.

    Hi John,
I guess Wesley and youself are boat sharing :) .
The first pic has great detail and there’s good contrast between the Lighthouse and the sky,
To my mind it might just be a tad too close, the pic has a top heavy feel about it .

The second shot is smashing, and as has been said the sky is just a little flat, the lighthouse dosen’t stand out from the sky as well as it could,
I’ve no doubt you’ll have another go at this sometime,
    Best of luck,

    Hi Pat, Wesley and Paul,

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

As I mentioned on our club forum, my brother asked me to join him on his boat
for a spot of fishing off Carne on a beautiful june evening.
When I got on board he took me out to Tuskar instead.

The light was beautiful when we set out but when we got there the sun was covered with
clouds and the light wasn’t very sympathetic.
We waited quite a bit but had to head back.

I had a couple of new issues to cope with which were quite new to me.
Using a camera on a boat bobbing in St Georges Channel is difficult.
My camera had just developed the famous Canon Error 99.

Wesley I tried all sorts to get the lighthouse whiter in #1 but failed miserably …… so far.

I tend to agree with you Paul about being a little close with #1.
I hadn’t long got the nifty 50 and just had to use it.
I do like the detail it shows of the structure .

I do hope I get a chance to photograph this from close up again.
I was born in Carne and lived within sight of this lighthouse which was just 7 miles out to sea.
It took me over 50 years to get this close to it.

    I enjoyed the trip.

Thanks bro and thank you all for your kind comments.

    John.
