Two things I notice are that I keep wanting her to open her eyes and look up to camera, even though the lashes are amazing. The image still works for me, I’m just curious ;-)
Other thing is I’m personally not gone on the coloured backlight..but that might be just a personal thing, depending on the reason for the shoot it might make perfect sense.
Anyway, overall great image, and I like how the skin looks natural and not over processed.
Essentially this shot was to help Mairead the MUA (and me :)), build her portfolio. She is family, so It’s a pleasure to help in any way I can. The model is my wife and was quite reluctant to get infront of the camera. Her discomfort kinda shows in shots where she’s looking at the camera. The backlight is a gelled 480EX with a lightsphere attached. Looks better than the cream coloured wall behind her. I guess the PP on this was made all the more easier because of the great job the MUA did at matching the makeup and skin colour.
