Two questions about Belfast – Calumet & Laptops

    Bon Jovi,

I’m thinking of going to Calumet in Belfast next week. There seem to be two branches in Belfast – one in Boucher Plaza and on in an industrial estate – I can’t find the address for that one now. However the Boucher Plaza one seems central enough in location. Does anyone know how to get there by public transport or is it walkable from the city centre?

As a further question, is there retailers other than Calumet which you would recommend? I just chose Calumet bacause there prices advertised are the same as warehouseexpress.com and it’d be nice to be able to just walk in and buy what I’m after rather than having to deal with post etc.

Also, I want to buy a laptop up there. Any opinions on the best spot for buying on? Somewhere like PC World or Currys? Or is there a recommended independent retailer?

    Thanks for any replies.

As far as I know Alan, there is just the one Calumet store, on the Boucher Rd. It recently relocated from the industrial estate.
I don’t know about getting a bus there from the city centre +44 (0)28 90 66 66 30 Translink, they are very helpful, if there is a bus available,
they will tell you. I guess it would be between £5 -£10 in a taxi. Too far to walk from city centre though.

You could also try Jessops in the city centre, but the service in Calumet will probably be better. I don’t know of anywhere else.

I wouldn’t but anything from Currys, they are famed for very poor after sales service. Perhaps someone else could suggest somewhere?
There is an Apple store in the Victoria Square shopping centre if you are after a mac book.

…plus check that Calumet have what you want in stock – depending on what you want, they might not carry teh stock.

I have always found Calumet to be very helpful and (usually) well priced. They have a very quick order service from their central warehouses.
