I dont think I’ll bother with the concert this time around, I’m happy with my Neil Young tickets so I think I’ll give Croker a miss.
I’m jealous already. I missed his last concert as I was away on holiday the last time (I know I won’t get sympathy for that one). I have my tickets to Justin Hayward’s War of the Worlds at the start of june and I’ve been told by the boss that if I buy anymore concert tickets she’ll cut my knutts off. I’m kind of attached to them so I’ll have to give Neil Young a miss this time, unless I win the Lotto or something.

As you won’t be able to get to see him this time then sit back and enjoy this for two minutes…

Aaaah! Would you look at the little baby face on him there, doesn’t even need the Bic razor yet!
That’s an excellent 2 minutes, cheers.Any one know if there are any tickets left for the concert, I might be tempted to take my chances with the domestic surgeon. I’m off to check my bank balance and see if there’s such a thing as steel plated underwear on eBay.
FintanParticipantnfl-fanParticipantThe album is growing on me… been processing photos lately and had it playing in the background… there’s about 3 tracks that are automatically skipped cos they’re so bad… but there’s a few catchy tunes. Especially like the album title track.

I never liked U2.
If this stuff was released by anyone else but U2 we wouldn’t have heard it.
AlanIf you had told me that they used one of your photos for the cover I would have believed you.
Liam2673ParticipantI’ve always liked their music, some albums more than others. I have no opinions on them as people, good bad or indifferent, but I do like the music. People can get very pompous about U2, that doesn’t annoy me but it wouldn’t put me off them either.
Anyway, I got their album last week. In my opinion, its a very good album, almost a really great album. Opening 5 tracks excellent, closing 4 tracks excellent and 2 complete duds in the middle. There are duds in nearly every U2 album, so thats not a big deal….
What this album has I think that other albums don’t (apart from Rattle &Hum) is that they are wearing their influences on their sleeve a lot more. Breathe could be a John lennon pastiche, Instant Karma. Doesn’t stop it being a great song. Ditto Moment of Surrender smacks of Bob Dylan for me, Time out of Mind era. Again though, I like the song. And the lyrics are good.
U2 remind me a bit of Fianna Fail, no one admits they like them but the concerts sell out in 90 seconds.
ExpresbroParticipantNo-one will ever get me to part with money for a concert in Croker. Even if they dug up John and George for a Beatles Re-union I’d think twice.
I got free tickets for Billy Joel there last year and the sound was awful….you’d hear as much from the balcony of the hotel across the road (I know..cos I listened to The Police from there).
Also unless you’re in the first few rows you can see bugger all…why pay big bucks to watch a concert on a screen? Can do that in the comfort of my living room when the DVD comes out… ..Bah hum,bug I say!!
Give me Vicar Street any day.
Oh and U2? Haven’t been interested in anything they’ve done since October (The album…not the month). Although I did quite like All that You can’t leave behind.
I’ll shut up now.
