Doesn’t look like it :( My brother dives but he doesn’t do photography, so I guess that’s not much use! Ever hear of Nigel Motyer? An Irish underwater photographer who is internationally known. He gave a talk once a few years ago at Celbridge Camera Club. Very interesting it was too.

As a diver yourself you’re probably familiar with the Irish Underwater Council. They’ve got a gallery on their site which may be worth checking out.

Not sure where you might get an underwater housing in Ireland. Not the cheapest thing in the world either! Best of luck with it. Let us know how you get on.

I dive, I photograph…but sadly not at the same time so not much help but you could have a look at http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk They are a shop that do a large range of housings and the have an info page that might be worth a read.

    Constantine,

It might be worth your while getting in touch with Thommac,
one our members here on PI. He’s both an avid photographer
and scuba diver and has a vast knowledge of equipment.

Your a brave man if you plan on doing any diving in Ireland. I used to work for a dive company and my boss had a special camera for under the water. Its hard work catching the right light but the finished product can be amazing. As for me i?m not so brave and only have an underwater disposable camera. Which i hear most of the time arent even very waterproof. Good luck on your venture. :D

Ah, I’m just thinking about it. Rolling the idea around of getting a housing for my 350D, as I wouldn’t be too heartbroken if I drowned it, plus I have it insured.

Those housings are crazy money, ?1500 plus as far as I can see.

    We’ll see.
