As little as I know… is that a Peregrine Falcon?
Where would they be nesting in Dublin?
I seem to remember something about a pair at Poolbeg Power station once.

A pair nested on the Gasometer in Ringsend for years…..I think this one might be from Irelands eye,its well within range of my house.
I thought I saw one last week but didn’t have the camera  Today I was well chuffed…..pity about the range of my lens though

Don’t think it’s a peregrine but as usual, I’m probably wrong. The balck stripes on the eyes are the key for the ID.

Black moustache…yellow legs…..size…..sheer panic of all the birds, gulls, waders, starlings, crows etc. when it was overhead……I’m afraid I have to disagree

Hate to have to do it to you again Aiden  Yes this most certainly is a Peregrine Falcon

Yeah. My new ID book agrees too :-) I should’ve know from the shape of the wings and the zig-zag brown patterns. Knowing me and my luck, one will land in my back garden and I’ll ignore it thinking it’s a crow.

Ah but you’re going to Skye…..for White tails and the like….I’m envious

Hoping to go. I’m really hoping my client can’t find another contract for me. If they can’t then if the weather plays ball … I’ll be off. Getting in as much in-flight practice as work allows at the moment.

What do you do again? :)

John, I’m an IT contractor. The place I’m in at the moment in Belfast is beside Belfast Lough (and the RSPB reserve). The client site has mad security. They weren’t bothering getting me a swipe card (3 month security clearance process) so I can’t even go out for lunch. I eat from a bag that I pick up at the petrol station and work while I eat. My 7.5 hour day ends at 16:00 so I can spend time out an about. I get in early too so I can spend time by the lough. The project ended early with a month left on my contract. My contract is written to proect me so I can get 4 weeks pay with just 2 weeks notice. I’m hoping that happens … then I get time off and don’t spend some of my money on hotels…. well … hotels in Belfast …. I’d swap that for hotels in Skye if the weather was good :-)

I’m strict about the 7.5 hours. I have to treat the whole thing like a business. The client pays for 7.5 hours so they get 7.5 hours, nothing more. If they want more, they pay more.

And there’s a little insomnia in there too.
