I love to take land and seascapes.I have a canon 550D thinking of upgrading to a full frame camera. Don’t know if to go nikon or stay withy canon
I have about €2500 looking to get camera and one good lens. any help would be great .Thanks
BrendanSeaviewParticipantThat’s a difficult question to answer, as for canon or nikon I think if you’re use to the canon 550D then I’d stick with canon. A canon 6D which is full frame would leave enough casl for a nice L lens.
I’m sure someone else can give you the nikon equivalent and also other options I haven’t mentioned, the list is endless really. You could also look at a second hand camera and get a couple of good lens.

Gortan60ParticipantHaving used both Canon and Nikon, I would suggest a Canon 5D or a Nikon D7000. My current camera is a D7000 and is a joy to use in all scenarios. Both are capable of really good results whatever way you look at it. I have also owned the Canon 550D in the recent past and would agree with Dave, if you are used to it, then stick with it and concentrate on a lens upgrade. I sold my 550D to a friend who dabbles in landscapes and he is delighted with the results.

NiallmanParticipantWhat are you looking for a full frame camera to provide that the 550 can’t? Just be sure about what you’re hoping to achieve. When you switch to full frame you’ll be ruling out EF-S lenses and your lens bill will take a hell of a jump. You might be better off putting your money into a decent lens rather than buying a new camera unnecessarily.
rocheyMemberBallistiXParticipantIf you have money to go full-frame, and will be asking yourself why you didn’t go FF after spending it all on lenses for a crop sensor, then I think, just go FF.
I debated good and hard whether to go FF or D7100, I’m delighted I went full-frame. Lenses will be available at reasonable prices for landscape photography for FF.
With the D610, 6d’s and second hand FF units to choose from, I encourage you to consider hunting hard for a reasonable priced FF body.
