I haven’t posted anything in awhile or even been out with the camera for that matter, so finally got out and took a run down to Urris last week, just a couple of shots from the trip

    All C&C welcome

Love these both 8) Tho for me #1 would be better if it had #2`s sky….
That said, its actually my favourite :)

Thanks for the comments folks, I agree with having the composition of number 1 with the sky of number 2, it would have made for a nice shot.

    John,

The set up was Sigma 10-20 bracketed exposure. I cheated a wee bit with on the 2nd one, as I ran the raw files through photomatix, so it is actually a HDR, but hopefully it has been used right and is subtle rather than overdone.

The 1st shot again was bracketed, but I used layer masks here rather than photomatix.

You should get a trip upto Inishowen someday, we could possible meet up. Some great spots around there.

#2 is great. It’s one of the rare occassions where HDR has been used to great effect IMO. Well done.

Thanks Miki, Im all for subtle HDR, hate it when it is overdone

i like em both but think 2 could be improvrd by either darkening the sky or maybe the whole image or maybe just some contrast. Mess about with it and im sure you will get a lovely finish. But thats only my opinion so if your happy well then thats all that matters. well done bud !

Lovely shots Peter and like you and others have said nice subtle use of HDR. You have replicated the scene rather than going OTT. My only point would be to darken the highlights on the top photo around the sun and water below it. I don’t know if you have you one of your underexposed photos that could be used to add detail.

Great shots Peter. The second would be my favourite. We’ll have to organise a trip out one of these days.
