Variable ND Filters?

I see 7dayshop are doing variable ND Grads one filter that goes from 2 up to 8,
seems to work like a circular polariser, sounds like a good idea if it works, cuts
down on filters and cost. Range from £17.49 for a 52mm to £44.99 for a 86mm.

Thats the same as the ones I saw in Conns, different make though. They are variable ND’s, not variable ND grads….. which is what I was trying to say :) .

I’ve been following various sites debate Fader NGs.

From a bunch of reading and separating out the talkers from those who own, I’ve concluded this:

Buy a real Lightcraft or Singh-Ray
Don’t buy anything else they are poor quality knockoffs = distortion, color cast, bad filter thread, etc, etc
Pros buy Singh-Ray = super expensive no problems ever
We buy Lightcraft = expensive (make sure you get the Mark II version)
