    … about lens choice.

I like to keep my camera constantly slung over my shoulder always ready to take a snap when a random opportunity presents itself. My question is which lens is most suitable for this kind of thing ? Something relatively compact that won’t double the weight of the camera yet something versatile enought to be useful in most situations. I was thinking something like a 24-85 similar to the attached. Am I way off ??

Doesnt sound to way off to me, I guess a lens that gives you some versatility
is good, and I suppose it depends on what you want to take pictures of, for example
a general walk about street lens the 24-85 would be ideal, I tend to bring one lens
and make do with it, being restricted lens wise makes you work a little harder and
look around more for opportunities that suit the lens, and if you miss a shot because
of the lens, then hey there is always tomorrow :)
