Oh mammy! I’ve just wet myself!!

I’d imagined a vintage rally as a few open top bone shakers that required someone with a red flag to walk in front of. What did I miss!!!

I can’t comment on the photographic qualities yet…maybe when I wipe off the drool after looking at the Delorean. I WANT ONE…

    5 & 6…hmmmm, why?

Well they had a military vehicle club there – and they had a re-enactor guy in wwII (Day of Defeat/band of brothers) – garb, also a truckload of weapons.

Included with the weapons display was a table full of gasmasks. So after overdosing on cars I did a couple of the gasmasks.

I have always meant to use gasmasks in a portrait shoot (yep cliched to bits but what the hey) & also the 5th one reminded me of the original Sandman #1 comic from years ago : )

And yep the deloreans were surprisingly cool – they had 3 of them in a row – have a few other shots of those that I need to process.

Glad you liked it – the final processing step on that pic involved taking a channel (which ever one made the car darker and the background lighter – blue I think) and paste it in as a new layer then experiment with different blending modes and degrees of opacity/ layer masks. Rinse & repeat a few times :)

I ended up with about 4 variations and in the end went with that one as the car came out more defined / sharper than in the others.

Hi Neil – I did see somebody there with a camera but couldn’t remember the name of the person who said they were going (or where I had seen it at – boards or here). There was an awkward moment of ‘should I ask is this person from the internet ?’ before moving on to take more pictures. So . . not sure if that was you or not -I had black combats and a navy & yellow tshirt on.

I thought the hard part was just getting people out of the way – the amount who would amble across the frame as I was about to take the picture was annoying. Especially after waiting 5 mins for a shot to clear then someone would invariably stroll in. That was why they were cropped like that – also very heavily cloned in some. Other than that reflections in windscreens was an issue, as far as angles and stuff I just went for getting the badges in !
